Motivate

Motivation is a very strange thing. How many times have you thought “I’m gonna do this…” or “I’m gonna do that…”. It can be a grand plan like losing weight or making a commitment to start going to the gym, or it can be something mundane like doing the laundry or washing the windows. In your mind, at that moment, it seems so certain that you can and will accomplish this goal. Then something distracts you like everyday life or other personal responsibilities. This happens to me all the time.

Motivation can be fleeting.

There are a ton of things in our lives which we want to make better. Most times we seem to know the answer or what needs to be done, but we either put it off or decide the task it too big or too difficult and we stay exactly where we started.

So we look for motivation.

There are a million or more motivational videos on YouTube. I have three on this website listed under BEAST VIDS. (click on the pics). I have watched or listened to hundreds, but these three really touched my soul somehow.

One of these videos I watched today while I was on the treadmill. It has been several months or even a year since the last time I watched this video. I forgot how good it is. Basically, it’s a collaboration of quotes from different movies, motivational speakers and even athletes.

It’s called: Why Do We Fail

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!

Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its’ place. If I quit, however, it will last forever.

The margin for error is so small. I mean, one-half a step too late or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One half-second too slow or too fast, you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.

Don’t be afraid to fail. You can’t always win, but don’t be afraid of making decisions.

You have to believe that something different can happen. He who says he can and he who says he can’t are both usually right.

Most of you say you want to be successful, but you don’t want it bad. You just kinda want it. You don’t want it badder than you want to party. You don’t want it as much as you want to be cool. Most of you don’t want success as much as you want to sleep.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

You have to dig deep down, dig deep down and ask yourselves, “Who do you want to be?” Figuring out for yourselves what makes you happy, no matter how crazy it may sound to other people.

Make a choice. Like, just decide, what it’s gonna be, who you’re gonna be, how you are going to do it. Just decide.

Get up and don’t ever give up.

We can stay here and get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch at a time.

To be able at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you will become. Most of you won’t be successful because when you’re studying, and you get tired, you quit. “ I don’t do well in math.” You’re right, because you never study! “I’m not god at writing.” Because you ain’t never written before.

Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours of beating on your craft.

**If you are not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time.**

Don’t cry to quit, cry to keep going. Don’t cry to quit, you already in pain, you already hurt. Get a reward from it.

Now if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you want to be because of him or her or anybody! Cowards do that, and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!

Every day is a new day. Every moment is a new moment. Now you’ve got to go out and show them you’re a new creature. Now!

I’ma show you how great I am!

There is more but I thought ending with the greatest, Muhammad Ali, was perfect.

Interesting name for this video that I never quite understood: Why Do We Fail. Yeah, there are a couple lines explaining why people quit or don't become successful, but most of the video is saying to work hard, keep moving forward and that we all have the power inside of us to succeed, to reach our goals.

I needed this video this morning. My workouts have been good, but not as good as I would like. That being said, my favorite part of every day is waking up and going to the gym. I'm highly motivated to get there. Sometimes you just need a little push to give you that extra motivation.

Please check the videos I have on the "BEAST VIDS" page. The first video, Dream Big, is with mostly Denzel Washington, an outstanding actor and an outstanding public speaker. The second is called 52 Cards. Narrated by NFL great Ray Lewis. The story he tells is just crazy and heart touching. The third video is Why Do We Fail. You read many of the lines already, but please give it a listen. The music, voices and they way it was arranged is just really amazing. Maybe, just maybe, it may give you little push.

Peace & Love to all,

The Beast Life.
